The 2018 Toyota Yaris Ativ has finally made its presence in Thailand. This is an all-new B-segment sedan from Toyota which is expected to “attack” Thai market with a total of five variants: J, J Eco, E, S and G.
Mainly sitting on the Vios platform, but to respect Thailand’s eco car rules, the new Yaris Ativ will use a far different engine. Specifically, the new sedan is equipped with the 3NR-FE 1.2-liter dual VVT-I 4-cylinder engine making 86 PS and 108 Nm of peak torque, paired with the only super CVT-i transmission.

Dominating the front fascia is a larger lower grille, upswept headlights and new fog lamps. But more than that, a special set of tail lights in the Altiv are considerably longer than that of the Vios.

Nonetheless, a 7-inch touchscreen, 4.2-inch multi-info display, automatic air-conditioning in addition to keyless entry and start are only available in the top-spec S. Luckily, all variants will come with standard safety features including seven airbags, traction control, VSC, ABS and hill start assist.
