The Volvo brand said that every model launched from 2019 will be equipped with electric motor.
Volvo has announced that its electrified models were going to involve electrified cars, all-electric, and mild hybrid engines.
Five new engines which are set to be shown off in 2019 through 2021, three Volvo models and two Polestar cars, will be fully electric. All of them will feature a range of diesel and petrol along with hybrid and mild hybrid 48 volt options.
“This announcement marks the end of the solely combustion engine-powered car. Volvo Cars has stated that it plans to have sold a total of 1m electrified cars by 2025. When we said it we meant it. This is how we are going to do it.” said Volvo Cars President and Chief Executive Hakan Samuelsson.
