It follows the same fate as the Ciaz.

Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPI) is revamping its model lineup by axing the Ciaz sedan a couple of months back. Now, Suzuki has added the Vitara into the discontinued models in the local market.

2021 Suzuki Vitara AllGrip – A return to off-road form? | Philkotse Reviews

SPI confirmed to Philkotse.com that the Vitara is no longer included in its current model lineup. The Vitara is officially removed from Suzuki Philippines’ lineup after being sold in the market for over a year.  As a review, the Vitara AllGrip was launched in the Philippines last May 28, 2021 with a starting price of Php 1,458,000 for the monotone exterior.

The Vitara was offered with the car brand’s AllGrip technology which provides the vehicle with an all-wheel-drive layout. It is a result of the car brand’s initiative to continuously innovate its lineup to provide customers with a better and more fun driving experience.

Speaking of which, SPI previously marketed the Vitara to young individuals who are always on the go with family and friends. Unfortunately, SPI dropped the Vitara moving forward. The car brand did not share the exact reason as to why it has axed the all-wheel-drive crossover. But, one factor could be its sales performance.

Last year, the Vitara wasn’t among the best-performing Suzuki vehicles in terms of sales in the Philippines. SPI was only able to sell 140 Vitara units, which is one of the lowest-performing models of the car brand sales-wise. The Ciaz, on the other hand, managed to find 61 new owners last year.

SPI’s top three best-selling models last 2021 were the Carry, Dzire, and S-Presso. The Carry is a commercial vehicle that managed to put up 3,804 unit sales. The Dzire is Suzuki’s subcompact sedan that registered 3,474 units sold last year while the S-Presso hatchback posted 3,429 units.

Meanwhile, SPI has implemented a price increase for most of its models including the S-Presso, Ertiga, APV, among others. The S-Presso gets a Php 20,000 price bump while the top-spec Ertiga has breached the Php 1 million mark as it is now priced at Php 1,003,000.
