As the all-new Celerio nears its local market debut, the Ciaz sedan finds itself in the dark as it is no longer included in Suzuki Philippines’ model lineup.
Facelifted Suzuki Ciaz
Suzuki PH confirmed to Philkotse.com that it has axed the Ciaz despite launching the facelifted version of it just eight months ago last July 2021. This means that the only sedan that Suzuki PH offers is the Dzire, which is available in three variants with a starting price of Php 559,000.
The Ciaz was Suzuki PH’s challenger in the tightly contested subcompact sedan segment. The facelifted version looks similar to the one that debuted in India last 2018. It has a restyled front end that’s highlighted by a new grille and bumper design.
The facelifted Ciaz also featured LED headlights along with minor interior updates such as the new steering wheel design, refined instrument cluster, an upgraded infotainment system, among others. Back then, Suzuki PH said that the facelifted Ciaz is a vehicle that offers an enhanced driver and passenger experience along with the same reliable driving performance.

The Ciaz featured a 1.4-liter gasoline engine that produces 91 hp and 130 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a four-speed automatic transmission.
However, the facelifted Ciaz didn’t last for a year in the Philippines, an indication that Suzuki has a different plan for the local market. One of which is the introduction of the 2022 Suzuki Swift that was launched in early March 2022. The Japanese car brand noted that the new Swift comes with upgrades that aim to “continuously satisfy the need of customers for something new.”
2022 Suzuki Swift
The 2022 Suzuki Swift retails at Php 844,000. It is only offered with a single variant that comes with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Swift that’s equipped with a five-speed manual has been discontinued.
That said, the Suzuki vehicles available in the Philippines are the following: S-Presso, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga, APV, Vitara, XL7, and Jimny. The all-new Celerio will soon join Suzuki PH’s model lineup.
