Despite many distinguishing features, the Toyota Supra 2019 still keeps various elements from the BMW Z4.

It seems it won’t be long till the day we welcome the new Toyota Supra 2019 to the public after series of spy shots revealing it prototype in less camouflage as caught earlier.

The high-performance Supra adopts various design cues from the recent GR Supra Racing Concept which evolved from the FT-1 concept. It is evident that the headlights follow the design of the Cleopatra’s eye makeup and the tails now come inwards to the centre. With these design to build its look along with 6 tiny projectors assigned to each side, the Supra 2019 gives the lamps a really high-tech feeling.

The model keeps the triple air intakes besides the F1-styled tall nose. The clamshell bonnet integrates the front wheels’ vent aft. Spy shots also show other appealing features including air vents cut into the doors, a large rear spoiler, slit-like taillamps, double-bubble roof, and the wraparound front windscreen.

The sporty concept is adorned with a massive rear wing, large front splitter, and broad wheel arches which have been all stripped out. The coming of a smaller rear diffuser, which incorporates the sizable twin exhaust exits and a center fog light, takes place of the huge one on the existing model. Speaking of the wheels, the 2-tone rollers get blade-like spokes.

Though it is based on the BMW Z4, the interior is believed to make its own signature other than borrowing the BMW Z4’s design. We can distinguish between the two by a different instrument layout or air-con vents, etc. Plus, the instrument layout is located with a familiar rev counter, instead of a back-up-direction gauge on the right hand’s side, in the center.

There are many distinguishing features but the Toyota Supra 2019 concept still keeps various elements from the BMW Z4 such as the wiper stalks, indicator, and the driving wheel-mounted controls.

There’s one thing to be sure of at the moment is that the Toyota Supra 2019 will be out for auto markets with BMW-rooted turbocharged straight-6 gas engine along with 50:50 weight distribution in addition to a tuned chassis. Car enthusiasts may frown upon the fact that the new Toyota Supra won’t offer an option for manual transmission.
