The cute Kei car now gets an aggressive streak.

Suzuki is known in Japan for its Kei cars, and it counts the Hustler in that lineup. Now on its second generation, the crossover-styled cutie has a reason to turn more heads now thanks to accessories from Japanese aftermarket specialist DAMD.

Suzuki Hustler

The Suzuki Hustler is already a looker in stock form

If the standard Hustler is already adorable with its space-efficient proportions on a boxy aesthetic, the DAMD Hustler Country adds a more rugged look. A blocky front apron inhabits the fascia, matched with a bumper integrating the fog lamps near the corners.

Right below the chiseled hood that now sports an inlet on the leading edge is a mesh grille with the DAMD badge at the center, enhancing the retro look of the Hustler’s stock round halogen headlamps and bringing an iconic Japanese off-roader to mind. Revised caps on the exterior mirrors feature a boxier shape, while an overhead rack mounted on roof rails expands the vehicle’s utility. A crossed wrenches decal adorns the fuel filler door.

No images of the vehicle’s rear portion were shown, but it would be safe to assume that it also has visual tweaks in keeping with other DAMD-modified machines. The complete kit gives the Hustler an overall vibe of the ideal compact road trip car.

The DAMD Hustler Country follows the Classico body package also for the Hustler. This comprises a grille with horizontal slats featuring a stylized Suzuki wordmark on top, faux wood paneling, and wheels with chrome hubcaps.

The accessories look good no matter what the body color is

According to the DAMD website, the DAMD Hustler Country kit is already in the final stages of development, with a scheduled release for late December 2022. Deliveries are expected to commence by 2023, when the actual car will also be exhibited at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

The Hustler isn’t the only Suzuki vehicle that has benefitted from DAMD’s magic touch. There are also kits available for the Jimny that transform the mini SUV into bigger off-roaders such as the Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender.
