All clues point towards Suzuki’s seven-seater hybrid version.

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) is all set to kick off the eighth Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Happening from September 15 to 18, 2022, PIMS will be featuring 13 car brands that are itching to show what it has to offer.

Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH) is among the participating car brands at the upcoming PIMS. The Japanese marque announced that will be showing its current lineup at the said show. This means that showgoers should expect to see the car brand’s all-new Celerio, Dzire, XL7, S-Presso SE, and the Jimny. The said Suzuki vehicles will also be available for test drives during the 4-day duration of the 2022 PIMS.

Individuals familiar with SPH’s model lineup could be a bit intrigued since the Ertiga is not among the confirmed Suzuki vehicles to be showcased at the 8th PIMS. That seems odd since the Ertiga is among the volume sellers of Suzuki in the Philippine market. In fact, the seven-seater Suzuki Ertiga posted more than 3,000 unit sales last year.

With that in mind, SPH could be sending a cryptic message in regard to its main highlight at PIMS. As of this writing, all clues point towards the possibility of Suzuki PH previewing or even launching the Ertiga that’s equipped with a hybrid powertrain.

Bringing the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid at PIMS 2022 also makes sense when you look into the car brand’s theme for the said motor show, which is “The Next Generation of Mobility”.

The Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid was first launched in India last April 2022. Then, it found its way to Indonesia in June 2022, marking its ASEAN debut. The Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is a facelifted model that comes with subtle design tweaks such as a new grille.

The Ertiga Hybrid is equipped with Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid tech that consists of a 1.0-liter K15B gasoline engine, an integrated starter generator (ISG), and a 6-Ah 12-volt lithium-ion battery. Overall, it can generate 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. Included in the gearbox options are a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.

That said, could the Ertiga Hybrid be the mystery model that SPH will show at the 2022 PIMS? It could be. The best way to confirm is for you to go to the 8th PIMS happening from September 15 to 18 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Moreover, exclusive Suzuki promos and branded merchandise items will be made available at the event. SPH has also prepared games that guests can enjoy, including the Suzuki Wheel of Fortune, and Suzuki Buzz Wire Challenge. Kids can join in the fun as Suzuki Safety Scout area will be made available for the future road warriors.
