NLEX Corporation aims to give back to Filipinos by improving access to goods and services

One of those extending a helping hand is NLEX Corporation, headed by J. Luigi L. Bautista. He remarked that the recently-upgraded Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) benefits not only the motoring public but businesses as well, especially those located in the freeport area. The roadway is seen as an economic booster during these trying times.

“Infrastructure developments like the recently expanded SFEX offer a breath of fresh air amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as they enable access and improve mobility in the Central Luzon region thus offer opportunities for people and businesses alike,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.

With a project cost of Php 1.6 billion, the SFEX has been upgraded with 16.4 km of new lanes, two bridges in Jadjad and Argonaut, and a new tunnel. Moreover, it received improvements for safety and security, including the installation of international standard LED lights and an enhanced draining system.

The SFEX paves the way for the smoother conduct of businesses

The new SFEX promotes travel efficiency along the Pampanga-Bataan-Zambales corridor, apart from helping increase the areas’ economic productivity in trade and tourism industries. All these are the company’s commitment to providing Filipinos with better access to business, education, employment, and other services.

“As a government partner in nation building, we remain committed to afford our motorists and communities the enhanced connectivity and accessibility and be a critical enabler for various industries,” concluded Bautista.
