Toyota Motor Philippines has already revealed that the facelifted Wigo will be debuting on July 14, 2023. Fast forward to the present, the Japanese brand disclosed further details on the refreshed ride on its website and it looks like it will be carrying over the same 1.0-liter 3-cylinder gasoline mill used by the pre-facelift model.

The inline-3 gasoline engine can still make up to 66 horsepower and 89 Nm of torque. Power is still sent to its front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for the G and E trims. A five-speed manual gearbox meanwhile, returns for the entry-level J variant. The refreshed Wigo also gets a 36-liter fuel capacity, which is larger compared to the 33-liter capacity of the old model.
For dimensions, all variants of the 2024 Wigo is 3,760mm long, 1,665mm wide, and 1,515mm in height. This makes the model fairly larger than the old version, including the pre-facelift TRD S variant. This is due to the fact that the updated model is underpinned by the new Daihatsu New Global Architecture A (DNGA-A) platform which it shares with the Toyota Raize and next-gen Avanza.

Other features indicated on the site for the refreshed Wigo include front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, 14-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, and a push-to-start button (G and E). Safety for the upcoming version of the hatch is then handled by anti-lock braking and stability control. It also gets a hill-start assist system, which is now standard across all three variants.
Lastly, onboard entertainment for the updated Toyota hatchback is provided by an eight-inch touchscreen or a 1-DIN headunit for the entry-level J. It wasn’t indicated if the said touchscreen has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but do remember that the pre-facelift model’s touchscreen did have those smartphone connectivity features.
