Dubbed as Omoda 5 EV (Electric Vehicle), the model will support the country’s push to growing electrification in the car industry. While the pricing wasn’t disclosed, the Chinese EV should make a noise in the electric market as the company assured it will be priced competitively.

What Filipino car buyers can expect is a comprehensive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), coming with functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Lane Departure Warning. Equipment such as a 360-degree camera and a heads-up display will also be available.

Powering the EV is a permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers 201 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. In terms of EV range, the model is expected to run from 300 to 450 km on a single charge. An AC/DC charging module and a portable 220V charger come standard.

Other amenities include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, seat heating and ventilating functions, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and an eight-speaker Sony sound system.

One benefit of owning the Omoda 5 EV is the brand’s O-Universe ownership experience. It provides car owners with various perks and rewards including discounts on selected fashion brands, access to the hottest parties and social events, sneak peeks on upcoming Omoda products, and fuel promos.
