The test mule is said to be the new Delica D:5. It is outstanding even in white background thanks to its distinct styling design that appears to borrow from the Mitsubishi Xpander crossover-MPV. Despite protective camou, we still realize the familiar two-level halogen headlamps with supposed LED DRLs and turn signal indicators at the top portion. A prominent hood and wide front grille are also recognizable.

However, the robust wheel arches seen on the renderings have been disappeared in the prototype. Not following the Xpander-inspired concept, the rear seems to be loyal to the traditional Delica design.

Sitting on the upgraded Outlander platform, the supposed Mitsubishi Delica 2018 will solely come with a 4WD system and Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC). Driving the van will likely be a new 2.2L turbo diesel engine with 170 PS, mated to an unknown transmission.

It has been over a decade since the 5th-gen Delica got a major modification. So, it is certain that what we see here will be an all-new model. According to latest car news, the Outlander-based Mitsubishi Delica will be kicked off later this year. Just wait and see.
