Mitsubishi Delica 2019 to be launched in Japan next month

The next-gen Mitsubishi Delica 2019, Delica D:5 to be exact, will be armed with a new engine.

Some spy shots of the next-gen Mitsubishi Delica D:5 2019 has been recently revealed on Japanese site Kakaku, ahead of its official introduction in its home market.

The “D:5” sufix was added in the fifth-gen model and it also retains that suffix in the newest gen. The car is designed with the signature Dynamic Shield concept, earning it a more practical light layout and a bolder look.

The car is designed with the signature Dynamic Shield concept

At the front fascia, the Mitsubishi Delica 2019 D:5 comes adorned with a big outstanding radiator grille. Besides, the LED headlamps are placed lower to prevent oncoming vehicles and pedestrians from dazzling while Ultra-sleek LED DRLs are also relocated on the top to help pedestrian visibility better.

In general, thanks to a new front light setup and a X-shaped front fascia, the mono-box minivan gets a very aggressive look.

Under the hood, the JDM-spec Mitsubishi Delica D:5 will be powered by a new mill working in a conjunction with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It is also equipped with an automatic start-stop system to reduce fuel consumption.
