Mitsubishi releases all-new Strada teaser ahead of July 26 debut

Mitsubishi Motors has officially revealed that the next-generation Triton will be launched next week. Specifically, the new pickup truck will be making its ASEAN debut in Thailand on July 26, 2023.

The next-gen Mitsubishi Strada is coming

The new Mitsubishi Triton, also known as Strada in the Philippine market, will be released in its sixth-generation form, coming with a new design concept called Beast Mode. Mitsubishi gave a glimpse of this concept with a few teaser photos and videos, showcasing a more rugged and beefier stance.

Mitsubishi has kept mum about the next-gen truck’s specs for now. But based on previous reports, the midsize pickup truck could run on a new 2.4-liter 4N16 turbodiesel engine, which comes from the same engine family as the one in the outgoing model.

Now in its sixth-gen iteration

A prototype version of the upcoming truck is also planned to compete at the 2023 Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) under the Team Mitsubishi Ralliart team. It will enter the rally series as the team to beat following a victorious 2022 season with a modified version of the previous-gen Strada.

“The all-new Triton has been completely reimagined under the design concept Beast Mode, or audacious and daring,” Mitsubishi Motors Division General Manager of Design Seiji Watanabe.

“While expressing the toughness and powerfulness expected of a pickup truck, the all-new Triton combines agility with the brand’s robust design to create an imposing look. Tough and reliable, the all-new Triton will make customers want to go on any adventure. Please look forward to seeing it in full this July,” said Watanabe.
