The MMDA's stop and go traffic scheme to start on November 30, 12:01 am in anticipation of the predicted increase in traffic congestion in connection to the 2019 SEA games.

The stop-and-go traffic schemes will take effect on November 30 until December 11 for the duration of the 19th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

Various areas of Luzon including Metro Manila will observe the traffic scheme, which will be enforced by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit. Other adjustments will also be done as needed to manage the flow of traffic, allowing some 9,000 ASEAN athletes in attendance to reach designated venues on time as they compete in sporting events. MMDA chief Danilo Lim said, however, that the delegates will not be assigned special lanes.

The scheme will take effect at 12:01 AM on Saturday in the following areas:

General Danilo Lim

MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim

  • Along Pablo Ocampo from Taft Avenue to Adriatico (Westbound only)
  • Along Adriatico from Pres Quirino to Pablo Ocampo (both directions)

There are alternate routes for those who need to drive their cars for the duration of the Games:

  • All vehicles coming from Taft Ave., traveling through the westbound lane of President Quirino Ave. intending to make a left on Adriatico Street are advised to go straight to Roxas Blvd. or Mabini Street.
  • Vehicles coming from Taft Ave. who are intending to use the westbound lane of Pablo Ocampo should pass through Menlo Street then to Donada.
  • Vehicles coming from FB Harrison or Roxas Blvd. using the Pablo Ocampo eastbound lane should use Adriatico Street, straight onto Taft Ave, then to destination.
  • All vehicles coming from Roxas Blvd. or FB Harrison passing through President Quirino eastbound lane intending to use Adriatico Street should just go straight ahead to Taft Avenue.
