It exudes the vibe of the cute Honda e.

Honda USA has just revealed the all-new Prologue crossover SUV. As to how it will be positioned in the market, it slots in above the CR-V. That said, the model is offering a roomy interior coupled with what the Honda describes as a “Neo-Rugged” exterior that’s ready for adventure.

The upcoming 2024 Honda Prologue

According to the automaker, the goal of the new Prologue’s design was to blend a rugged SUV image with the cutting edge look typical to EVs. So yes, while it’s adventure ready, it still aligns with Honda’s global EV models. It will even be brought under Honda’s e series nameplate.

We can see this on the Prologue’s smooth and closed off front end which is inspired by the Honda e. A vent is still present on the lower section of the front fascia, while the upper part is flanked by a pair of sharp-looking LED headlamps.

The side of this new Honda crossover SUV assumes the typical shape within that class of car. However, it continues the smooth and sleek theme with its lack of visible character lines. It then gets blacked out exterior pieces like its body cladding, door handles, and side mirrors. Up top, it also sports black-colored roof rails.

The aesthetics are consistently smooth all around

The rear likewise gets a straight forward design with box-shaped LED taillights, and a square-shaped trunk door which tapers upwards to the rear window. The lower bumper then gets a silver-colored faux skid-plate surrounded by black cladding.

Completing the look of the all-new Honda Prologue is a set of 21-inch wheels. It also comes with a sunroof.

Size-wise, the Prologue is 4,877mm long, 1,981mm wide, and 1626mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 3,073mm. This makes it 203mm longer, and 127mm wider than the 2023 Honda CR-V.

As a side note, Honda did tease the Honda Prologue's look way back in May 2022, coming in the form of concept sketches. With respect to the actual car, it does come close to the previous renders. Even the wheels come with the same robust-looking 5-spoke design.

As something larger than the CR-V, a generous interior is to be expected. But then, not much was revealed by way of its interior features in general, although we do know that it is getting a fully digital 11-inch gauge cluster, as well as a 11.3-inch central touchscreen.

Honda is likewise being mum about the Prologue’s powertrain. They did say though that it will be getting an all-wheel-drive system.

In being fully electric though, the new Prologue follows Honda’s intitiative of gaining carbon neutrality by 2025. For that matter, Honda USA Vice President Gary Robinson mentioned that the Prolgue was indeed designed to target CR-V customers.
