Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) and Pasig City team up for the first Road Safety Summit (RSS), an initiative by the Japanese car brand that is in line with its goal of reducing the number of road crash fatalities.

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) said that HFI’s RSS aims to develop road safety mindset as well as riding and driving proficiency among road users. It also intends to provide practical road safety know-how to the participants through an easy-to-understand and enjoyable learning approach.
HFI shared that more than 500 road users comprising motorcycle and automobile enthusiasts joined the first RSS held at the Pasig Rainforest Park. The participants of HFI’s RSS were diverse, which included riders’ club, Local Government Unit (LGU) employees, traffic enforcers, TODA, and students, among others.
The first RSS also showcased Honda Motorcycles and Vehicles (such as the Honda HR-V) as well as the brand’s Power Products lineup such as portable generator and tools for agriculture needs.

HFI president and concurrent president of Honda Parts Manufacturing Corp. (HPMC) Seiji Fujimoto was present during the first RSS held in Pasig City. Joining him was HFI Board of Trustees headed by Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) president Sayaka Arai-Hattori and Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone, Corp. (HTPE) president Masanao Shikanai, Pasig City Congressman Roman Romulo, and other local officials.
HFI president Fujimoto emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the government in mitigating the rising number of traffic-related road crashes.

Meanwhile, Pasig City Congressman Romulo expressed appreciation and support for HFI’s advocacies such as sharing the importance of road safety to the participants of the first RSS.
Of note, HFI is the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Honda companies in the Philippines. It was established and registered as a non-profit organization on December 23, 1992. Since then, HFI has been crafting programs to protect the environment, support the youth, address community needs, and promote traffic or road safety.
