Honda goes all out at 2023 Auto Shanghai (20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition) by unveiling three new prototypes under its e:N electric vehicle (EV) series. This includes the e:NP2, the e:NS2, and the e:N SUV 序 (xù or Prologue).
The Honda e:NP2
In describing these three new prototypes, Honda said all of them are aiming to take the e:N EV series to a whole new level when it comes to “Dynamics, Intelligence, and Beauty.”
To make their eventual production versions pleasurable to drive, the brand is leveraging the vehicle dynamics knowledge it has collected throughout the years in order to make their drivers “enjoy a sense of oneness with the vehicle.”
All three are also intelligent in that they feature interiors that are uncluttered but feature rich. Their cockpits will also come with integrated technologies like the Honda Connect. The current version of this technology suite offers several safety and security features like automatic collision detection and security alarm detection. It likewise features car status monitoring, remote vehicle control, etc.
Honda e:NS2
On top of the Honda Connect, the e:N SUV Prologue, in particular, will also adopt Honda’s latest safety and driver assistance systems.
Honda also made sure that these e:N prototypes are certified neck turners. The e:NP2 and e:NS2 for instance, come mostly with sleek forms that are said to provide a glimpse of the future of mobility.
The e:N SUV Prologue’s design meanwhile, seeks to combine the “wild” nature that’s attributed to SUVs together with a sleek contemporary design that’s in keeping with the e:N design language.
For now, those are the things we know about these three new Honda EV prototypes. No details for their powertrains were provided after all.
Honda e:N SUV 序 (Prologue)
Honda did state that these prototypes will eventually become production models which will be released before the end of 2024. This also ties into the brand’s plan on introducing 10 Honda EV models for the Chinese market by 2027 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Do you like what you’re seeing from these three new Honda e:N prototypes? Are you excited to see the production models that will be based on these prototypes?
