The leaked images of what could be the production version of the Civic Hatch were uploaded at civic11forum.com. From the looks of it, the hatch has a different rear-end design aside from the obvious sloping roofline. One of the leaked images shows that the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback is fitted with a different set of taillights.

Instead of an L-shaped design, the Civic Hatch’s taillights will have a set of distinctive C-shaped taillights. You can also see that the hatch version has a more bulging tailgate due to the design of the character line. It also has a more rounded rear bumper to further highlight the vehicle’s hatchback body. The Civic Hatch also has dual exhaust pipes, and a diffuser.

The interior of the Civic Hatchback has also been leaked, and there are no significant changes as compared to the sedan version except for the cargo area. The cabin also comes with the same piano black trims, sunroof, leather seats, and door handle design. However, the Civic Hatchback appears to be integrated with a black headliner.

The hatch also appears to have the same dashboard layout as the one seen on the Civic Sedan, which features Honda’s new interior design philosophy dubbed ‘simplicity and something’. The said design concept integrates a clean interior layout so that drivers can get used to the cabin features almost instantaneously. Think of it as something like a less is more design approach.

Powertrain details have yet to be released by Honda but the Japanese automaker has already confirmed that the 2022 Civic Hatchback will be available with a six-speed manual transmission. As a review, the Sedan version has two engine options: a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter and a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline. The 2.0-liter gasoline engine puts out 158 hp and 187 Nm of torque. The 1.5-liter turbocharged, on the other hand, generates 180 hp and 240 Nm.

The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback will be officially launched on June 23, at 6 p.m. PDT (June 24, at 9 a.m. in the Philippines) on the Honda Stage YouTube channel.
