GAC Motor PH welcomes Jun Cajayon as new brand head

GAC Motor Philippines is set to reach new heights with the announcement that Redentor “Jun” Cajayon is its new Brand Head.

Astara Philippines, GAC Motor Philippines’ new distributor, appointed Jun to lead the Chinese marque’s business network in the country. Jun comes in strong with 30 years of experience in automotive sales, marketing, and development. He will be responsible for driving strategic marketing direction, sales programs, and dealer network development.

One of his first tasks in the office is the launching of two new GAC models, namely the Empow and the all-new GS8. The GAC Empow is a sporty compact sedan that will become a new addition to the lineup, while the upcoming GS8 is a midsize crossover that will enter its second generation form.

GAC Motor Philippines will launch the two aforementioned models on January 18. Upon the official launch, the Empow and all-new GS8 will join the company’s reworked 5-car lineup completed by the GS3, GS4, and GN6.

The introduction of a new brand head reflects Astara Philippines’ commitment to rapidly expanding the brand’s network locally. Last year, the Spanish distributor managed to achieve 297 percent year-over-year growth for Peugeot Philippines, a new record for the French lion brand.

With that being said, Astara Philippines is confident that it will do the same for GAC Motor Philippines. The company is happy to have Jun to lead the way, who is tasked to turn its ambitious vision into reality.

“We have achieved significant milestones in our first year with Peugeot and we are confident that we will do the same for GAC Motor this year,” said Astara Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello.

“Jun is a seasoned executive with an impressive track record, and we are happy to have him on board to drive GAC Motor to new heights through impactful marketing and sales campaigns.”
