Ford Fiesta Active 2018 - A pseudo crossover revealed

The all-new Ford Fiesta Active 2018 receives a bit more ground clearance and a special package to make it look more like an SUV.

Recently, Ford has brought the Fiesta lineup a new version with added ground clearance, considered as a pseudo crossover - the all-new Ford Fiesta Active 2018.

Besides the higher ground clearance, the Fiesta Active also receives a special package that makes the Fiesta look more like an SUV. The package includes a honeycomb grille, a fresh bumper which is developed from the standard version but comes with a silver piece and an unpainted cladding to look like a skid plate.

The lower part of the Ford Fiesta Active 2018 gets more cladding surrounds while the rear also has another fake skid plate like the front fascia. According to Ford, the Fiesta Active is 18 mm taller than the current Fiesta and the extended width is also supportive for rough road stability.

Stepping inside, the dashboard is now equipped with different materials which are evaluated to be more durable than the standard Fiesta. The car also gets a bigger 8’’ infotainment screen featuring a floating design. It now comes with a Sync 3 infotainment system powered by QNX, not Microsoft.

Under the hood, the engine options for the Ford Fiesta Active 2018 contain one turbodiesel and 3 turbocharged gas powertrains. The turbodiesel is a 1.5L unit with 118 hp while the 3 gas engines get a similar 1.0L EcoBoost unit producing different power outputs.

As for transmission options, the pseudo SUV will work with a 6-speed manual with Slippery Mode to assist the driver in tougher roads or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Ford Fiesta Active 2018 will be driven by the only front-wheel drive system.
