Chery Auto Philippines’ newest flagship model, the Tiggo 8 Pro, has been all over the place since its debut at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) last April 2022. Its latest stop is at SM Aura Premier in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City for the World of Luxury nationwide roadshow.
The Chery Tiggo 8 Pro is on a tour
Until July 7, the Chinese marque is showcasing the models of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro on the upper ground floor of the mall. It includes the base Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6 Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection (TDGI) and the top-of-the-line Tiggo 8 Pro Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
Perhaps the feature that the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro proudly boasts is its Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS), coming with 12 safety functions. To note, you can get the following features for the price of Php 1,645,000. Here are the features under the flagship model’s ADAS:

The ADAS made us feel confident driving the vehicle even during high-speed cornering, while the power delivery is adequate despite using the smallest 1.6-liter turbo engine.

The Tiggo 8 Pro 2023 is a seven-seater midsize crossover. In the local market, this model has two different variants, the Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6 AT, and the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV. The Pro 1.6T AT is priced at Php 1,698,000, while the PHEV variant can be had for Php 2,500,000.
Under the hood, the Tiggo 8 Pro gets two engine options. For the top-spec PHEV trim, it uses a 1.5-liter inline-4 turbo gasoline engine that’s paired with an electric motor, as well as a battery. In total, this hybrid powertrain can produce up to 155 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. This variant then uses a hybrid gearbox.
The non-hybrid version meanwhile, gets a 1.6-liter inline-4 turbo gasoline engine that’s good for 195 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. This version then gets a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Size wise, it is 4,722mm long, 1,860mm wide, and 1,745mm tall. It also has a wheelbase length of 2710mm.
Locally, the Tiggo 8 Pro competes against the Maxus D90, Honda CR-V, Kaicene CX70, Geely Okavango, GAC GS8, among others.
