Chery Auto Philippines announced that its whole initial inventory of its new flagship model, the Tiggo 8 Pro, has been sold out.

The Chery Tiggo 8 Pro is the brand’s new 7-seater midsize crossover entry that brings tons of upgrades from the front to the back. Chery Auto Philippines shared that the model’s pre-selling activities were received very well by the market thanks to the competitive features it offers to Filipino consumers.
With a starting price of Php 1,645,000, the base Tiggo 8 Pro variant boasts advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), among others. It is also equipped with a 360-degree camera for the convenience of drivers.

We at Philkotse.com were impressed with the said model when we drove it at the media drive up and down Mount Samat last May 2022. Chery Auto Philippines President Erroll Dueñas shared, “we were pleased to read about the highly positive media feedback about our new Chery Tiggo 8 Pro.”
The Chinese automaker is also offering two higher-end variants, namely the Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV. The mid-spec Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T delivers a more potent 2.0-liter turbo engine with 254 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque, while the top-spec Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV comes with an EV mode that offers an 80 to 95 km range.
To top all the competitive features off, the Tiggo 8 Pro is available with a staggering 7-year/200,000-km for the general and engine warranties, a 3-year free PMS (preventive maintenance service), and a 3-year roadside assistance program.

This announcement was made along with Chery Auto Philippines’ May sales report. In the report, the automaker managed to garner a 143 percent increase over the previous month. The sales improvement was brought by the company’s crossover-only lineup consisting of the Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 8 Pro, Tiggo 2 Pro, Tiggo 2, and Tiggo 5x.

The Tiggo 8 Pro 2023 is a seven-seater midsize crossover. In the local market, this model has two different variants, the Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6 AT, and the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV. The Pro 1.6T AT is priced at Php 1,698,000, while the PHEV variant can be had for Php 2,500,000.
Under the hood, the Tiggo 8 Pro gets two engine options. For the top-spec PHEV trim, it uses a 1.5-liter inline-4 turbo gasoline engine that’s paired with an electric motor, as well as a battery. In total, this hybrid powertrain can produce up to 155 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. This variant then uses a hybrid gearbox.
The non-hybrid version meanwhile, gets a 1.6-liter inline-4 turbo gasoline engine that’s good for 195 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. This version then gets a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Size wise, it is 4,722mm long, 1,860mm wide, and 1,745mm tall. It also has a wheelbase length of 2710mm.
Locally, the Tiggo 8 Pro competes against the Maxus D90, Honda CR-V, Kaicene CX70, Geely Okavango, GAC GS8, among others.
