Changan PH opens San Fernando dealership, first in Central Luzon

The car brand now has a total of 35 dealerships.

Changan Motor Philippines is determined to expand its network as it opened a new dealership in San Fernando City in Pampanga. Changan San Fernando is now officially open, and it is more than ready to accommodate potential car buyers.

Changan San Fernando is one of the three new dealerships set to launch this year. As such, it increases the car brand’s total number of dealerships to 35. Changan San Fernando is under the management of Grand Canyon Multiholdings, Inc. (GCMI), a company that has over 16 years of automotive experience.   

GCMI is headed by Dealer Principal Jan Andrew Po, which aims to bring the Changan brand closer to individuals living in San Fernando, Pampanga. 

“As we open Changan San Fernando, Pampanga, we hope to provide more mobility and economic opportunities for the city, and to become an active contributor in its recovery in the new normal,” said Po.

Changan PH President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo expressed that the brand’s new San Fernando dealership is “right on time as it kicks off a new chapter in Changan’s journey in the Philippines.” Perez-Agudo added that “Pampagueños can experience the brand promise of Lasting Safety.”

In addition, Changan also managed to rank as the top Chinese car brand in terms of reliability. This is according to a study conducted by J.D. Power, leading consumer insight and market research firm.

Changan Philippines re-entered the Philippine market with five car models. Among the cars launched by Changan is the Alsvin, a five-seater subcompact sedan that goes up against the likes of the Kia Soluto, Toyota Vios, among others. 

The Alsvin is available in three variants with a choice of a five-speed manual or a five-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The entry-level model Alsvin comes with a 1.4-liter gasoline engine while the other variants are equipped with a 1.5-liter power unit. Changan Alsvin Philippines's price starts at Php 654,000 while the top-of-the-line Platinum variant has a sticker price of Php 743,000. 

Some of the notable features of the Changan Alsvin are the following: sunroof, cruise control, blind-spot, and rear cameras, tire pressure monitoring system, and leather seats.

The exterior of the Changan Alsvin has a simple yet distinctive exterior design. All variants of the Alsvin are fitted with sweptback projector halogen headlights. The top-spec Alsvin Platinum variant, on the other hand, comes with LED daytime running lights along with a chrome grille.

Turning at the side, all Alsvin variants feature side mirror repeaters. It also has decent-looking wheels that can either come in a set of 15-inch or 14-inch alloys, depending on the variant. The Alsvin’s rear is fitted with large taillights, a wide bumper, and a shark fin antenna that comes as standard.

The Changan Alsvin features a dark interior theme along with splashes of silver trims. The aircon vents come with a round design on the corners while a horizontal layout can be seen at the one fitted on the middle of the dashboard. The Alsvin subcompact sedan also has a flat-bottomed steering wheel with integrated controls.  

The two lower variants of the Alsvin have fabric seats while the top-spec Platinum trim comes in leather. The driver’s seat also varies depending on the specific Alsvin variant. The lower trims get a 4-way manual adjustment while the top trim has a 6-way manual adjustment. The Alsvin Philippines can accommodate up to five occupants.

Technology & Safety Features

When it comes to tech features, the Changan Alsvin 2025 is integrated with several notable toys. Coming as standard on all variants are the following: power door locks, power side mirror adjustment, a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and a multifunction steering wheel, among others. The top-spec Alsvin Platinum exclusively gets a power sunroof and a cruise control feature.     

Safety-wise the Alsvin is equipped with dual front airbags, an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, a reverse camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Depending on the variant, the Alsvin can also come with the following: electronic stability control, hill hold control, blind-spot monitor, and rear parking sensors.

Platform & Chassis

The new Changan Alsvin 2025 comes with a McPherson front suspension while torsion beams are fitted on the rear. In terms of braking power, the Alsvin has ventilated disc brakes on the front while the rear gets drum brakes.

Changan Alsvin Engine & Drivetrain

The Changan Alsvin subcompact sedan is powered either by a 1.4-liter or a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine. The 1.4-liter power unit generates 99 hp and 135 Nm of torque while the 1.5-liter motor produces 106 hp and 145 Nm of torque. The engine can be mated to a 5-speed DCT or a 5-speed manual transmission.
