Fuel efficiency is one of the things that matter to most car buyers.

Changan Motor Philippines is one of the car brands in the local market that intends to undercut rivals by offering vehicles with notable features along with an attractive price tag. The Alsvin is one example of how Changan PH plans to shake up the subcompact sedan segment that’s currently held by the Toyota Vios.

To further boost the Alsvin’s appeal in the market, Changan PH conducted a fuel economy run with the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP). The said fuel eco run was held last July 2021 using the Alsvin 1.5L DCT mid-variant. Based on the report shared by Changan PH, the Alsvin posted a fuel economy of 22.023 km/l on the highway while driving at speeds between 60 to 85 km/h.

The fuel eco run on the highway traversed from Balagtas, Bulacan in NLEX Northbound part going to Tarlac City through SCTEX and back. Changan PH said that the Alsvin was able to cover a driving distance of 180.7 kilometers.

The vehicle covered a driving distance of 90.7 kilometers.

Changan PH explained that the Alsvin used in the fuel economy run was set with driving parameters for real-life driving conditions. The vehicle used for both fuel eco runs was filled with 95 RON gasoline. The car brand added that all OEM equipment were present in the Alsvin, and the tire pressures were set at standard specifications. Moreover, the air conditioning was said to be at medium cool thermostat setting.

In case you’re wondering, the mid- and the top-spec variants of the Alsvin are powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that delivers 107 hp and 145 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a five-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
