Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) said that the temporary traffic scheme on CAVITEX’s Parañaque toll plaza will be put into place to make way for the girder launching activity for the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 R1 Interchange. The counterflow scheme will be implemented from September 15 to 25 in two separate batches.

The first batch where the counterflow scheme will be implemented is for Manila-bound traffic, which will be in effect from September 15 to 19. The second batch will then be in effect from September 19 to 25 for Cavite-bound traffic. The counterflow scheme on CAVITEX will be implemented from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

CIC said that it will be putting up or activating counterflow lanes as needed to help alleviate congestion.

The Segment 2 R1 Interchange of the CAVITEX C5 Link spans 1.9 kilometers, and it will connect CAVITEX R1 to C5 Road in Taguig. CIC president and general manager Raul L. Ignacio shared that Segment 2 is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2024.

“CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 once completed by the first quarter of 2024 will help cut travel time to Sucat Road from CAVITEX (Coastal Road) and vice versa by 10 minutes, making daily commutes more efficient and seamless for our motorists,” Ignacio said.

The CIC added that the CAVITEX C5 Link is expected to accommodate over 50,000 vehicles per day once it is fully completed. The said expressway is also seen to significantly reduce travel times to and from Makati and Taguig for motorists coming from Parañaque City, Las Piñas City, and Cavite.
