This is according to a report from GMA news online. Bonoan also stated that the CTBEX isn’t likely to have conflicts with the similar Cavite Batangas Expressway (CBEX) project.  Then again, the DPWH Secretary did say that some issues regarding the two road projects will need ironing out. He likewise mentioned the possibility of interconnecting the two proposed expressways.

To further clarify, the CTBEX and CBEX are two separate and different expressway projects proposed by two different entities. The CTBEX is under the Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPTS), a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC). The CBEX meanwhile, is under San Miguel Holdings Inc.

Once finished, these two different highways will provide easier access between Cavite and Batangas. Curiously enough, both will also pass through a similar roster of towns. These are Silang, Amadeo, Tagaytay, Mendez, and Alfonso in Cavite. Both will likewise pass Nasugbu, Batangas.

Despite their obvious similarities, the CTBEX is a far longer road than the CBEX at 50.43 kilometers long. The CBEX meanwhile, is 27.06 kilometers long. But interestingly, the CBEX gets a much larger project budget of Php 27 billion. The CTBEX meanwhile, will be built for Php 25.24 billion.

According to the MPTC, the CTBEX can then handle up to 23,000 vehicles daily. In turn, the CBEX has a larger capacity of up to 40,000 motorists every day.

Concerning target dates, it was previously reported that the CBEX will be completed by 2026. For the CTBEX, a final target completion date is yet to be announced by MPTC.

Regardless of their differences, these two roads might provide a free-flowing route for motorists traveling between Cavite and Batangas. They will likewise serve as alternates for the existing routes and may thus reduce traffic congestion.

Are you excited by the prospect of having two roads to choose from when traveling between Cavite and Batangas?
