AVID members excel in 2017 mid-year sales with 6% increase

AVID has sold a total of 48,348 copies in mid-2017.
The Philippines’ automotive industry experienced a great accomplishment for the first half of 2017. This is according to the recent report by the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID).
 
The AVID saw an impressive 6% increase in the first semester this year, pushing total sales to 48,348 vehicles from 45,470 copies over the same period last year. Moreover, the agency’s Q2 2017 sales performance posted a remarkable growth with 25,031 copies compared to the 23,317 vehicles in Q1 2017.

The report by AVID showed that Passenger Car sales increased by 13% in the first half of 2017. By the figure, this fruitful sales performance equates to a total of 18,773 copies which is 2,129 more than the mid-2016. Among the organization’s members, leading the charge is Hyundai Philippines. Hyundai’s first half of 2017 Passenger Car sales saw a 64% jump to 12,038 units sold. March 2017 also witnessed the highest monthly output in Hyundai's history with a 17% increase in comparison with March 2016.
 
What is more, growing demand was in the same optimistic way for Light Commercial Vehicle in mid-2017. This segment inched up 3% or a total of 48,348 vehicles from 45,470 copies for the same period in 2016. Leading the charge is Ford Philippines as the company brought a stunning comeback, with a total of 16,209 copies.

AVID President Maria Fe Perez-Agudo as quotes as saying: “AVID delivered 48,348 vehicles nationwide for the first semester of the year, improving by 6% from the same period in 2016.”
 
“To sustain this positive trend, AVID will continue on its quest to innovate its products and services in response to the ever-changing customer needs,” Maria added.
