This could potentially be Geely PH’s first sedan in its lineup.

Chinese car brand Geely Auto partially unveiled the all-new 2022 Emgrand sedan, the fourth-generation version of the model. It comes with a more mature and sleeker design while retaining most of the key styling features from the outgoing model.

Developed on Geely’s B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA), the Chinese sedan gets a larger grille embedded with the car brand’s logo finished in black. Sleeker headlamps are also integrated which complement the new grille. The aggressive character lines seen in the previous generation are still carried over to the all-new Geely Emgrand highlighted by the large character line that connects the headlamps and taillights.

Not many interior features are shown by the Chinese car brand. However, we got a glimpse of the new dashboard themed in black with white and chrome trims. The black Geely logo has been embedded in the steering wheel as well. Other features in the interior include a full-digital instrument gauge cluster and a new floating-type infotainment screen.

Part of the all-new Emgrand sedan announcement is Geely Auto’s participation in the upcoming 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The Chinese car brand said that the next-gen Emgrand sedan will share its Spirit of Champions ethos with the organizers to promote the event.

“The Spirit of Champions isn’t only for the world of sports but is also recognized by Geely Auto as we continue to push boundaries in our pursuit to provide better user experience for our global consumers. We believe that the fourth generation Emgrand represents the best of Geely Auto in terms of quality, technology, and experience,” said Geely Auto Group CEO Gan Jiayue.

Geely Philippines, however, hasn’t clarified whether it will bring the 2022 Emgrand here in the Philippines. All we know is that Sojitz G Auto Philippines, the official distributor of Geely in the country, will finally add a sedan to the Philippine lineup soon, alongside two new crossovers/SUVs.

If the fourth-gen Geely Emgrand makes its way into the country, then it should compete against the likes of the Toyota Vios, Honda City, Mitsubishi Mirage G4, and Hyundai Accent in the local subcompact sedan market.
