Some teased features are a burgundy interior and a fastback design.

After a series of speculations, Toyota finally confirmed the arrival of an all-new version of the Vios. The news came out after Toyota Motor Thailand posted a short video on its YouTube channel that provides us a glimpse of the next-gen Vios, or Yaris ATIV in Thailand.

A glimpse of the next-gen Toyota Vios

The all-new 2023 Toyota Vios appears to feature a sharper design starting with the new front end. It resembles the face of the next-gen Toyota Avanza minus the sleeker-looking headlights that look similar to the ones in the Corolla Altis. Moreover, the L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) elevate the appearance.

It gets more interesting at the sides as the subcompact sedan is showcasing a fastback silhouette. This is paired with new and prominent rear quarter windows. And at the back, the vehicle gets redesigned taillights, with the sequential turn signal lamps making an appearance in the short video.

Inside, the cabin is treated with a tri-tone finish highlighted by the fancy-looking burgundy color. Looking closely, you will notice that the steering wheel appears to be the same as the one you will find in the Toyota Raize. With that in mind, the reported possibility of utilizing the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) is now more likely.

No powertrain details have been revealed on the sneak peek. Reports suggest that the model could come with a choice of 1.2-liter 4-cylinder and 1.5-liter hybrid engines. Expect more detailed engine options once the launch date nears. In comparison, the current Philippine-spec Toyota Vios is equipped with either a 1.3-liter or 1.5-liter gasoline engine.
