Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has previewed the PH-spec 2023 GR86 during the Gazoo Racing Festival held at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

But while the covers have already been slipped off, TMP has yet to launch the next-gen Toyota GR86 officially in the local market. The car brand is coy in giving out the exact launch date, and it has also yet to announce the pricing and variants of the 2023 GR86.
We do know though that the all-new Toyota GR86 uses the 2.4 FA24D boxer-four gasoline mill which it shares with the 2022 Subaru BRZ. Like versions in other markets however, we can also surmise that the Philippine-spec GR86 will have slightly different engine output figures than its Subie brother.
At the most, the Japanese-spec version of the GR86 can make up to 232 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The Subaru BRZ that’s already available in the Philippine market meanwhile, can churn out up to 228 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque.
The GR86 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Primacy HP tires
The GR86 previewed by TMP at Clark has a pearl white exterior paint. It is also fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Primacy HP tires. The GR86 presented by TMP also comes with a manual transmission, which could hint that it is the entry-level variant.
Inside, the vehicle on display is equipped with fabric-covered bucket-type seats, a hand-operated parking brake, a push-to-start button, and a sufficiently-sized trunk.
A peek inside the GR86's interior
If we are to compare it with Subaru PH’s variant options for the BRZ, there’s a high probability that TMP will also offer the 2023 GR86 with an automatic version. But then again, TMP is mum about sharing more details about the upcoming PH-spec GR86.
As mentioned, pricing details for the local version of the GR86 will be revealed when TMP officially launches the vehicle. More details about the 2023 Toyota GR86 will come out as it nears its launch date, which could happen in August.
