A few days ago, we reported that Toyota Motor Philippines has previewed the 2023 Toyota GR86 at the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival held in Clark, Pampanga. We also shared that its official launch might happen in August of this year. More recently though, a special edition variant was unveiled in Japan.
GR86 & SUBARU BRZ 10th Anniversary Limited
Dubbed as the Toyota GR86 RZ 10th Anniversary Limited, this particular 86 comes with a few unique bits that aren’t found in other variants of the Toyota-made sports coupe.
For starters, the GR86 RZ comes in the special Flame Orange body color. It also comes with a special sticker with the words: “10th Anniversary Since 2012” on the vehicle’s window. Of note, the production history of the Toyota 86 as well as its Subaru BRZ twin dates back to 2012. Initially, the first-generation model was released as the Scion FR-S.

The interior of the GR86 RZ gets some unique styling features as well. These include orange stitching for the seats, hand brake, door armrest, and leather shifter boot, a leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel also with leather stitching, as well as cast black paint for many of the car’s physical buttons.
Finally, the seats also come with 10th anniversary embroidery. These are found on both the driver’s seat and the front passenger seat’s shoulder pads.

Other than that, the Japanese-spec GR86 RZ 10th Anniversary Limited model still comes with the same 2.4-liter boxer four engine that other versions from a variety of other markets use. At the most, it can make up to 232 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. This special edition GR86 may also come with a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic.
And of course, it features the same exterior shape and style as the regular Toyota GR86. It still gets an 18-inch set of alloy wheels, and it also comes with side sill spoilers, a ducktail spoiler, as well as functional ducts, vents, and air outlets.
