The upcoming ASX will get four engine options

For non-hybrid engines, the base model will be powered by a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine good for 91 horsepower. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Next in the range is a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine which will be available with two transmissions. The 6-speed manual variant makes 138 horsepower, while the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) option has 156 horsepower.

Moving to hybrid engines, the Japanese marque will be offering the naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter gasoline engine with two electrified versions. The first one is combined with two electric motors with a 1.3 kWh battery, making a total output of 145 horsepower.

Meanwhile, the other option is paired with PHEV technology which consists of a larger 10.5 kWh battery that can be charged via an external source. This powertrain is capable of generating more power than the non-PHEV hybrid engine at 158 horsepower. No diesel engines have been mentioned in the reveal.
