2022 Honda Civic gets 5-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP

The all-new Civic scored a 5-star rating under the more stringent ASEAN NCAP safety rating standard. As a review, the ASEAN NCAP released the revamped score sheet last May, and Motorcyclist Safety is added as a new category to get a 5-star safety rating. This will be effective until 2025.

With that, the new ASEAN NCAP safety rating standard now has four categories that include: Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Child Occupant Protection (COP), Safety Assist (SA), and Motorcyclist Safety (MS). AOP makes up 40 percent of the whole safety rating score while COP, SA, and MS each get 20 percent.

The Civic comes with a standard of six airbags, and it is also equipped with the usual safety features one can expect from a modern car such as an anti-lock braking system, and electronic stability control.
