When the all-new 11th-gen Honda Civic made its debut last April 2021, the new design elements of the sedan is somewhat fresh, especially for Civic fans. The new model now comes with a more mature styling inside and out instead of going for the usual sporty appeal.

Although some can’t wrap their heads around the new design, others praise what Honda has done for its long-time running sedan. In fact, Wards Auto awarded the 2022 Honda Civic as one of the 10 vehicles with the best interior for 2021. Scoring is based on materials, comfort, ergonomics, safety, fit-and-finish, and aesthetics.
Here are the winners of the 2021 Wards 10 Best Interiors:
- Honda Civic
- Bentley Bentayga Speed
- Ford F-150
- Ford Mustang Mach-E
- GMC Yukon Denali XL
- Hyundai Tucson
- Jeep Grand Cherokee L
- Land Rover Defender
- Mercedes-Benz S-Class
- Mitsubishi Outlander
The 2022 Honda Civic’s interior is crafted with a new design philosophy the Japanese automaker calls ‘Simplicity and Something.’ The ‘Simplicity’ in the design philosophy guides the designer to eliminate complex features in the cabin that are normally seen on high-tech and modern vehicles. It instead comes with a simple layout where drivers can focus more on the road.

Meanwhile, the ‘Something’ design concept enables Honda to add personality and character to the cabin. This helps the interior look like it is still up to date despite its simple nature. That said, the new 11th-gen model proves that simplicity can still be the best go-to concept.
We can’t get a glimpse of the redesigned all-new Civic in person just yet as Honda Cars Philippines is still offering the 10th-gen version. However, an insider source claims that the latest model will be arriving on our shores sometime in November 2021.
