Ford has recently announced that the diesel-powered Ford F-150 2018 can reach an EPA-estimated 22 mpg on the city road, 30 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg combined, which is even better than that of the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel which drinks 20 mpg city/ 27 mpg highway/ 23 mpg combined.

The F-150’s fuel economy will be better than that of the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel 

However, according to the latest car news, the new EcoDiesel developed from the newest-gen 1500 will be launched soon and its fuel efficiency can even dominate the F-150’s figures.

For further information, the 3.0L V6 powertrain of the Ford F-150 2018 is capable of doling out 250 hp and 597 Nm of torque while the 2019 Ram 1500 Hemi V8’s numbers are 410 lb-ft and 556 Nm of torque.

The F-150 Power Stroke Diesel can pull up to 11,400 pounds and have a loading capability of 2,020 pounds in the XLT and XL versions.

The first-ever diesel driven Ford F-150 2018 will be delivered to the US market next month and it will feature a ten-speed automatic gearbox as standard which was made to be optimized for the new mill.

Retail clients can buy Power Stroke engines for both 4x4 and 4x2 configurations on the Platinum SuperCrew, King Ranch and Lariat versions armed with 6.5 or 5.5-foot beds. Especially, the SuperCab version boasts a larger bed. For fleet buyers, diesel engines can be available at all variants with 6.5-foot or 5.5-foot beds and the SuperCrew having a 6.5-foot bed as well.

Locally, the sole variant of the F-150 is the Lariat 3.0 V6 4x4 AT, and it has a price tag of Php 3,398,000. Under the hood of the all-new Ford F-150 is a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel mill. At maximum, this engine can churn out 250 horsepower and 596 Nm of torque. Power from the said engine is distributed to all four wheels via a 4x4 drivetrain, and it also uses a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
