WD-40 effectively gets rid of tree saps

I am pretty sure that you have experienced parking your car outside your house or by the sidewalk where there a lot of trees. You consider yourself quite lucky because you are parked at a shaded area but little do you know that leaving your vehicle under the trees comes with a price.

When you get back do not be surprised to find out that your prized car has several droplets of tree saps (otherwise known as dagta in Filipino) and bird waste and these things stick to your car like their life depends on it.

Tree saps are very challenging to remove as compared to bird waste and if you don't know the right process of cleaning you might risk damaging your car paint (which can be costly to have it repaired). Some people use either baby oil or cooking oil to remove the saps and droppings which works fine.

But to make your job a lot easier just spray a moderate amount of WD-40 to the affected area and gently remove the sticky and stinky stuff from your car using a soft and clean cloth.

WD-40 helps get rid of minor car scratches

When you are using your car almost every day and no matter how careful you are your car might inevitably get minor scratches caused by a lot of things such as:

  • Outdoor plants (branches and leaves)
  • Animals (dogs and cats)
  • Unnoticed parking signs at the side of the road
  • Poor parking skills and so much more

To get rid of ugly car scratches simply spray a generous amount of WD-40 to the surface, leave it for a few minutes and wipe it with a clean microfiber cloth.  The WD-40 solution fills the gap on the scratches making it disappear.

Please note to manage your expectations especially when using the solution for deeper scratches. WD-40 may improve the appearance but there is no guarantee that the scratch will disappear especially if the top paint has already been damaged.

WD-40 works as a great car polisher

If you are about to attend a special event and you have no time to bring your car to the nearest car wash shop do not worry because WD-40 can help solve your problem. First, wipe your car with a piece of dry soft cloth to get rid of dirt and dust particles and finish it off with a light coat of WD-40.

You will be quite surprised at the outcome after applying the solution. It is also a great alternative to getting mud stains around your wheels and rims.

This hack works well for dirty cars, but you need to remember that it is not advisable to use WD-40 all the time because of its potent de-greasing components. Long term use of this product on your cars’ body can increase its chances of damaging the paint.
