Indonesian car enthusiasts were once disappointed when the debut of the Toyota Vios 2018 in April did not come along with the revelation of the TRD Sportivo variant. Not till the 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show did the Toyota Vios TRD 2018 showed its face but in a prototype version, which means the variant is still testing Indonesian car lovers’ patience.
However, it’s enough to talk about the TRD showcar. Right at the first sight, its face catches anyone’s eyes with a bold appearance- the foglights surrounding the wide lower grilles and a bright red light under the grille connecting the two fog lights. Apart from it, its round bodykit makes the front look more prominent.

In the back, the rear bodykit, a boot lid spoiler, and side skirts round up the changes. The side skirts accommodate vents set right above the rear foglights. The center is designed diffuser-style and there also a bright read element sitting at the bottom. They are the 17-inch wheels that carry the showcar while C- and A-pillars are painted in black.
Stepping inside, black and red are chosen to be the colors of the seats embossed with TRD logos on their covers.
Compared with the Yaris Active TRD prototype displayed in the 2018 Bangkok Motor Show, the TRD at GIIAS 2018 seems to have undergone only subtle treatments, which may be a sign the carmaker is still working on it before the B-segment sedan can be ready for sales in Indonesia.
Last month, the all-new Toyota Vios was officially rolled out in the Philippines with a price tag starting from P659,000. Visit Philkotse.com to keep updated with the latest Vios's price list and specs.
