Subaru PH launches Subaru Outback 2018 facelift along with Eyesight technology at MIAS 2018.

At the beginning of 2018, Motor Image Subaru brought ASEAN a new tech dubbed the Eyesight tech. The tech’s introduction happened on the occasion of the Subaru Outback 2018 facelift’s regional launch in Singapore. And now, both the facelifted Outback and the new tech have been brought to the Philippine market via the MIAS 2018.

For further information, Eyesight tech is a bundled safety package of Subaru. The tech uses sensors and cameras around the car's body in order to prevent accidents from happening and alert the driver to respond timely.

The safety kit includes:

  • Forward collision warning;
  • Adaptive cruise control following the pace of the car in front;
  • Throttle override;
  • An automatic emergency braking system;
  • Lane departure warning with lane keep support;
  • Lane sensing.

Speaking of the Subaru Outback 2018 facelift, it receives a redesigned style derived from the current model, earning the new car a more chiseled look. The front fascia is adorned with a revamped grille with bigger openings. The sculpture on the fog lamp has been boosted to be fitted with the fresh and sharper C-Shaped headlamps. The most noticeable change in the Outback 2018 is its all-new alloy wheels while the rest of the body is almost unchanged.

Stepping inside, the interior mostly gets no touch on design, compared to the outgoing model. Most of the improvements lie in the infotainment system and an addition of audio deadening materials for a less noisy cabin. Additionally, the Eyesight tech will come standard on the top-of-the-range version of the updated Outback.
