1. Chevrolet Spark

Price: ₱648,888 - ₱763,888

Chevrolet Spark doesn’t pretend to be anything that is greater or less capable than what it is: tiny in size and affordable

Surprising as it might sound, the American car manufacturer Chevrolet is now introducing some of its greatest subcompacts on the market. For example, here’s the adorable and good Chevy Spark. Yes, it’s quite small but the front seats, at least, have enough room to accommodate people in comfort and the inside is really practical. What makes the Chevy Spark truly appealing is that the car doesn’t pretend to be anything that is greater or less capable than what it is: tiny in size and affordable. Other car manufacturers take note. Even at this price, driving a small car yet having good combination of safety and efficiency is something really enjoyable - and this one is.

The Chevrolet Spark is a city car produced by GM Korea and has been available as a 5-door hatchback. It offers a spacious cabin that can easily fit 4 full-size adults in comfort without any problems. The car is dubbed as the smallest Chevy ever.

For safety reasons, standard features on the Chevrolet Spark include Rear Vision Camera, Anti-Lock Brake System, 10 airbags, Electronic Brake System, and Traction Control.

At as low as ₱648,888, the 2017 Spark is now one of the cheapest brand-new cars you can purchase in the Philippines. Obviously, this price tag is just for the brand new Chevrolet Spark 2017 1.4L LT Manual Transmission. Please check the table below for more information and pricing on the rest of the Spark’s lineup.

2. Hyundai Accent

Price: ₱673,000 - ₱858,000

Hyundai Accent is cheap yet great and is blessed with the impressive warranty for which the Korean automaker has become famous

For many car enthusiasts, the Hyundai Accent is dubbed as the proverbial brother of Kia Rio from another mother. The Accent is indeed an innovative, stylish and well-made creation in a group of vehicles that pretend to be more but aren’t. For 673,000, the car comes in a 1.4L gasoline engine with CVVT, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT type. However, the model with a CVT type is available for 50,000 more. For 858,000, the new 2017 Hyundai Accent sedan is available with a top-lining 1.6L diesel engine with VGT, and for some reasons, the automatic costs 100,000 in that car rather than the variant with manual transmission. Of course, no one said affordable vehicles made money. But seriously, guys, we love the Hyundai Accent here, as the car is cheap yet great and is blessed with the impressive warranty for which the Korean automaker has become famous.

3. Kia Rio

Price: 635,000 - ₱755,000

Kia Rio is a cut above most runabouts in the powertrain department

What has four doors and very great performance without compromise? Nothing incidentally close to 625,000, except the teeny 2017 Kia Rio dances on the sand. With its stylish appearance, good quality interior and really powerful engine paired with a manual transmission, the subcompact car is a cut above most runabouts in the powertrain department. In fact, the Rio won Carguide’s 2011 Car of the Year Award and Semperit Irish Car of the Year. A classy 4-door hatchback with automatic transmission is also available, but it’s a little bit more expensive at 775,000. According to Kia, the Rio is blessed with 5 years/160000 miles limited warranty (whichever comes first).

Another feature worth noting is Electronic Brake-force distribution (EBD) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) which are on-guard all the time.

4. Ford Fiesta

Price: ₱755,000 - ₱905,000

Another highlight of the bleak affordable car scene emanates from the reliable American automaker – Ford, where the hot hatch has been putting smiles on all Ford customers’ faces ever as the company always gives away many cool promotions for its popular Ford Fiesta. Powered by either a perky 1.5L gasoline engine or a 1.0L EcoBoost, the Fiesta has decent power, although its gas mileage is hardly segment-leading. The car also is really smooth on narrow streets. With its consistently responsive steering and well-tuned chassis, the 2017 Ford Fiesta is slightly pricier than the 3 above-mentioned cars, starting at P755,000. At this reasonable price, we are confident that this hot hatch will still build on the strengths in the near future, which makes the existing model a party on wheels.

Final thoughts

Perhaps some of the aforementioned cars come with small, frugal motors, and lack even basic amenities such as an automatic transmission, air-conditioning, as well as power windows. But you apparently don’t pay attention to any of those things. After all, you are more concerned about saving money, right?

Again, if you’re finding the cheapest brand-new vehicles on sale in the Philippines today, you’ve found them. However, if you think this article is a massive list of all available cheapest cars, think again – there are real quality and assortment in here.

What connects them all, though, is that when it comes to costs of purchasing they’re really the cheapest new vehicles. One thing to note that we mention all up-to-date prices (2017) and car makers will frequently have cool promotions and the like, so you could end up getting a substantial discount.
