The Chevrolet Spark follows the primary aesthetic of hatchbacks which is egg-shaped and bulbous. What makes the model unique is its enlarged exterior features such as its projector headlamps and daytime running lamps incorporated on the bumper. On the rear are halogen tail lamps and the iconic bowtie emblem that completes the look.

The top-spec Premier variant rides on 15-inch alloys while the base variant gets 14-inch steel wheels.

Inside the Spark Philippines is a spacious cabin that sets it apart from other vehicles in its segment. It comes with a flexible 60-40 split-folding rear seat to accommodate additional cargo. Seats are upholstered in jet black premium materials with manual 4-way adjustability in both driver and passenger’s seats. 

The dashboard is straightforward and clean, clad in black plastic material. On the center is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The top of the line variant comes with a driver information center on the console which reflects the fuel range, average fuel economy, and a timer.

Chevrolet equipped the Spark 2022 with a 7-inch touchscreen that is paired with the brand’s MyLink Infotainment System. This makes the model one of the few hatchback models in the country that offers seamless connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sounds come out of a 6-speaker audio system, which comes as a standard in all Spark variants.

All variants of the hatchback are also equipped with an anti-lock braking system, anti-theft system, engine immobilizer, and heated power-folding side mirrors. Additional safety features such as driver information center, traction control system, electronic stability control, and hill start assist are delivered with the Premier variant.

The Chevrolet Spark 2022 rides on a GM Global Small Vehicles platform, paired with a 1.4L EcoTec engine. Power is sent exclusively to the front wheels. The 5-door hatchback sits on a McPherson strut suspension in front, complemented by a rear compound crank suspension. Stopping power comes from front vented disc brakes and rear drum brakes applied in all variants.

The Spark’s 1.4L DOHC DVVT engine produces 98 hp and 127 Nm of torque, ample enough for city driving or highway cruising. The engine is mated to either a continuously variable transmission for the top-spec variant or a 5-speed manual transmission for the base variant. The CVT Premier variant’s variable transmission enables seamless changing of gears according to driving conditions. CVT likewise adds to the vehicle’s fuel efficiency, making it beneficial for city driving.
