Skoda fully unveiled its new Karoq SUV in Sweden

The Skoda Karoq mid-size SUV has been finally rolled out in a global event in Stockholm.
After releasing numerous teaser images, the Czech car manufacturer has revealed the new C-segment SUV for the first time at the Artipelag museum near Stockholm, in Sweden.

Skoda has revealed the new C-segment SUV for the first time in Stockholm

The Karoq is expected to replace the Yeti crossover in Skoda's lineup and join the Kodiaq, Skoda's first large SUV. Measuring 4,382 mm in length, 1,841 mm in width, 1,605 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,638 mm, the Skoda Karoq bears a strong resemblance to a baby Kodiaq.

The Karoq is expected to replace the Yeti crossover in Skoda's lineup and join the Kodiaq.

Outside, the car’s styling is quite unique with new grille, full-LED headlights and LED interior ambient lighting, which is configurable up to 10 colors. Moreover, the Karoq also gets sporty and massive 16 and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The interior design of this new SUV is pretty simple. However, the car is still packed with the latest technology such as WiFi hotspot functionality, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, wireless mobile device charging and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.

In addition, the Karoq also comes with safety and driver assistance systems, including parking assist, autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with forward collision warning and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistant, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition.

Particularly, the 521 liters of trunk capacity can grow to 1,630 liters with the rear seats folded down. The seats can also be completely removed, increasing load capacity to 1,810 liters, according to Skoda.

At the present, the Skoda Karoq is offered with five engine options (two petrol and three diesel units) with output from 113 to 187 hp, paired with a 6-speed or 7-speed automatic transmission.
