This means the CX-90 has joined the CX-60 in Mazda’s Large Product Group lineup in the Philippine market, which is the brand’s initiative to go upmarket.

“The first-ever Mazda CX-90 is the pinnacle of Mazda Premium. It is our most advanced model ever with exceptional levels of sophistication all throughout that can be enjoyed not just by the driver, but by the whole family,” said Mazda Philippines President and CEO Steven Tan.

Exterior

Exterior-wise, the Mazda CX-90 features similar design cues as the CX-60 but in a bigger package, spanning 5,120 mm in length, 1,994 mm in width, and has a wheelbase of 3,120 mm. It is available with a set of 21-inch diamond-cut wheels with a black metallic finish.

Other color options include Rhodium White Premium, Machine Gray, Platinum Quartz, Sonic Silver, Deep Crystal Blue, and Jet Black.

Interior

Inside, the layout is said to be inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics – which exudes a luxurious and comfortable feel for all three rows. The base variant offers a 2+3+3 seating configuration, while the top-of-the-line Exclusive variant boasts a 2+2+2 seating configuration with the second row getting captain’s chairs.

Further emphasizing a premium feel is the use of Nappa leather and Leganu suede inserts. Passengers also benefit from a usable 257-liter cargo space (2,025 liters with second and third-row seats folded) complemented by a hands-free power tailgate. Other interior amenities include tri-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.

Tech & Safety

The Mazda CX-90 is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument gauge cluster, and a 10.4-inch heads-up display. It also has facial recognition technology that automatically adjusts the seats, door mirrors, heads-up display, and steering wheel suited to the driver.

This provides advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) functions such as front and rear brake support, Mazda radar cruise control with cruising and traffic support, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring, among others.

Engine

Under the hood is a 3.3-liter e-Skyactiv-G inline-six turbocharged engine that makes 280 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. It is paired with an electric motor to complete the 48-volt hybrid system, which adds 17 horsepower and 153 Nm of torque.

An eight-speed automatic transmission is used to send power to all wheels via a rear-wheel-biased all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Mazda said that when the lithium-ion battery has sufficient charge, the crossover can run solely on electric power, enhancing fuel efficiency.

Price

Mazda Philippines is offering the all-new CX-90 from Php 3,680,000 for the 3.3L AWD HEV Turbo to Php 3,780,000 for the 3.3L AWD HEV Turbo Exclusive.
