The end of the Aston Martin DBS nameplate has finally arrived in the form of the 770 Ultimate.

The Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate

As the name suggests, the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate is tuned to make 770 ps (759 horsepower), making it the most powerful road-going model to come out of the British automaker. Only 300 coupes and 199 Volantes will be built, all of which are already sold ahead of its release.

Exterior

While the design remains similar to the standard DBS, the 770 Ultimate hosts a few exterior changes. Some of these include a 2x2 Twill carbon fiber Cantrail, a windshield surround, mirror caps, and fender louvers. Also, aero improvements are integrated, increasing airflow to the radiators and enhancing thermal management.

Perhaps the most noticeable update is the new and unique design of the 21-inch wheels. Inspired by the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Victor, the new wheel design is available in three configurations: full Satin Silver finish, full Satin Black finish, and optional Satin Black with Diamond Turned finish.

Interior

Moving into the inside, the 770 Ultimate retains the “instantly recognizable cabin environment of the current DBS.” It has Sport Plus seats trimmed in full semi-aniline leather and Alcantara, which features a “fluted” quilt and perforation pattern as standard.

To set it apart from the rest, the final edition comes with a laser-etched DBS 770 Ultimate logo on the center armrest. Moreover, the model is fitted with a unique set of sill plaques to showcase the Aston Martin Wings, DBS 770 Ultimate logo, and unique numbering of each limited unit.

Tech & Safety

An 8-inch infotainment touchscreen is fitted on the center console with iPod and iPhone integration, Bluetooth, and USB playback. It is paired with an Aston Martin sound system as standard, but it can also be partnered with a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

In the safety department, the vehicle is equipped with automatic steering column adjustment, cruise control, a 360-degree camera array, auto parking (parallel and bay), blind-spot detection, and a side mirror tilt-down function when reverse gear is engaged.

Engine & Drivetrain

Now on to the major update: the engine. The high-performance grand tourer is powered by the same 5.2-liter AM31 V12 engine but now makes 759 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 900 Nm of torque from just 1,800 rpm to 5,000 rpm. It comes with modified air and ignition pathways to deliver a seven percent increase in maximum turbo boost pressure.

Aerodynamics have been improved

The power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. According to the automaker, the gearbox has been calibrated to enhance shift speeds and driver interaction. This is complemented by a new solid-mounted steering wheel, providing more precise steering input.
