A new SUV-looking Toyota Avanza X 2018 for Malaysian market

UMW Toyota Motor in Malaysia made an announcement last month about the launch of the all-new top-of-the-line version of the Avanza - the Toyota Avanza X 2018. In Malaysian market, the X model is priced at RM82,700 (P1,098,762). It now comes with a bolder style for a SUV-looking appearance. Honda also used this trick for the Honda BR-V yet with a more “rugged” look.

The Malay-spec X version of the popular Toyota Avanza comes with cosmetic supplement which is a black case on the whole lower part of the front, side and rear, containing the wheel arches. The lower bumper at the front and rear comes adorned with silver sections to simulate the slide plates. The matte black shades are blended with some glossy black shades and there is a set of daytime running lamps under the fog lights.

Worth of note, the "floating roof" effect of the vehicle is created thanks to the nice match of blacked-out D-pillars with all aforementioned lower parts. The front wings get "X" badges while the rear features additional red reflectors placed next to the vertically-arranged tail lamps.

Options for a “roof ornament” and 2-tone multi-spoke 16’’ alloy wheels are also available. Malaysians can upgrade their Avanza 1.5X’s head to DVD-AVN or DVD-AVX systems.

It is a pity for Philippine car lovers since the Toyota Avanza X 2018 is currently only available in Malaysian market. The closest thing we have in our country is the Toyota Avanza Veloz 2018 which is also a very welcome model since its local launch. According to latest Toyota new car price list, the Avanza Veloz 2018 can be had at P1,065,000.
