All-new 2023 Range Rover now available in the Philippines

It gets a V8, and a whole host of luxurious features. 

The Land Rover Range Rover for the Philippine market has just received an update. Specifically, the new version is now the all-new model for 2023 that uses the new Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex).

It also comes with a host of onboard features, as well as a beefy powertrain further enhancing the luxury as well as the capabilities of this well-known model.  

Let’s check it out in detail. 

Exterior 

Design-wise, the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover largely keeps the familiar box-like design that was present in the previous version. As a whole, it provides a good balance between sleekness and toughness, as it is still off-road capable. More on this later.

With its new platform though, the new Range Rover can now come in two different wheelbase lengths. There’s the standard one, and the long wheelbase version. This thus allows for various seating configurations which can accommodate four, five, or seven occupants.  

For exterior equipment, this new model from the British marque gets a pair of adaptive LED headlamps, LED taillights, LED daytime running lamps, a set of 23-inch or 22-inch wheels, as well as a set of premium exterior color options.

The rear also comes with a split rear automatic liftgate, which depending on your needs, can be specced out with the optional Tailgate Event Suite. This includes tailgate speakers, lighting, leather, etc.  

Interior 

Inside, the new Range Rover is flush with soft-touch surfaces which are clad in leather. This is then combined with brushed aluminum trim pieces, which is then combined with a sleek but functional dashboard.  

It looks minimalist in design, but the interior is already kitted out with automatic air-conditioning, power-adjustable seating with heating and ventilation, 24-way electronically adjustable seats, a 13.7-inch interactive driver display, among others.

If one wants, the said model can also be fitted with soft-close power actuated doors, and active noise cancellation speakers. The Range Rover five-seater and four-seater versions may also come with the Executive Class rear seats. This adds massage seats, as well as a sizable curved glass entertainment system for the second row.  

Tech & Safety 

For entertainment, the 2023 Range Rover is kitted out with a sizable 13.1-inch touchscreen headunit. This screen is underpinned by the Pivo Pro system, and it comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, as well as HDMI connectivity. It is then linked to a Meridian 3D surround sound system.

Besides those, this model also gets the Air Purification Pro system. This is an air filtration system, which according to Land Rover, can reduce the chance of odors, allergens, and even pathogens from entering the cabin.  

Safety is then handled by autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, a 3D surround camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, among others. Those are on top of the standard safety equipment like anti-lock braking, stability control, traction control, etc., that you’d expect from a modern vehicle 

Engine & Performance 

Regarding engines, the 2023 Range Rover gets three options. The beefiest among these is a 4.4-liter V8 that’s capable of churning out 530 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. 

Then for the entry-level versions, there’s the 3.0-liter inline-6 turbodiesel that can make up to 350 horsepower and 700 Nm torque.

For those who would like more efficiency and possibly less emissions, the new Range Rover may also come with a plug-in hybrid. It consists of the gasoline 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which is then paired with an electronic integrated into the vehicle’s transmission. At the most, this hybrid powertrain can dish out 440 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque. 

Regardless of engine option, all versions of the Range Rover use an eight-speed automatic gearbox, as well as all-wheel-drive. 

Price 

Pricing for the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover starts at Php 15.990 million, but that may increase depending on a customer’s choice of options.

The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover is a luxury SUV. Depending on the variant, it can seat up to five, or seven. It also assumes an all-wheel-drive, front-engine layout.  

In the Philippine market, the said model has a total of five different trims. There’s the entry-level Range Rover HSE P44e, the HSE D300, HSE D350, LWB Autobiography D350, and the LWB Autobiography P530. Prices for the range from Php 15,990,000 to Php 21,390,000. 

Size-wise, the largest Range Rover is 5,252mm long, 2,048mm wide, and 1,870 mm in height. Depending on the trim, they have a ground clearance ranging from 219mm to 294mm.  

The engine options for the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover includes a 3.0-liter twin-turbo diesel mill in two states of tune. They can either produce 300 horsepower or 350 horsepower. There’s also a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline making 530 horsepower. Lastly, there’s a new 3.0-liter inline-6 hybrid version that can churn out a combined output of 440 horsepower. 

All Range Rover variants use an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and all come with all-wheel-drive.  

Locally, the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover competes against the likes of the BMW X6, Lexus LX, Mercedes-Benz G Class, Mercedes-Benz GLS Class, etc.
