Engine & Performance

Now, the piece-de-resistance for this new CX-5 variant is of course its new engine. As mentioned above, it’s a 2.5-liter inline-4 gasoline mill, which now has forced induction via a turbocharger.

At maximum, this four-banger can produce up to 249 horsepower and 434 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful CX-5 variant, and one of the most powerful compact crossovers in the market right now.

It also comes with an electronic parking brake with auto brake hold function, as well as a start/stop idling system. The new CX-5 turbo variant however, is now the heaviest in its variant lineup with a curb weight of 1,712kg.
