It came out as a successful race event despite the challenges of the pandemic.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP)’s race events for this year have come to a close. The Japanese automaker recently concluded the 2021 Gazoo Racing (GR) GT Cup e-Motorsport, awarding a cash prize of Php 100,000 and a brand new PlayStation 5 for champions of the race’s three classes.

The 2021 Vios Cup is now in the books

Now, the 2021 GR Vios Cup has also waved its checkered flag after a long-fought event. A total of 49 racers coming from different classes gathered at the Clark International Speedway on November 6. The racers entered the third and final leg of the race event to formally end the season.

“We have championed over many obstacles to bring the TGR Vios Cup back. And we couldn’t have done this without all of you. On behalf of Toyota Motor Philippines and all our partners, I would like to thank you for your continued support and participation this season,” said TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto.

A thrilling experience for both racers and spectators

Just like the second leg of the Vios Cup, the third leg still consists of three classes, namely Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional. It also held an Autocross Challenge with the media, as well as celebrities and influencers who represented Team TOYOTA GAZOO Racing PH.

The last two races got more intense as TMP decided to implement the double points ruling. With this, racers who are trailing in the ranking are given the chance to rise up to the top. All participants went on full competition mode to bring home the championship title.
