The hatchback segment has managed to strive over the years as it offers some of the most practical and efficient vehicles in the automotive market. This is perhaps one of the many reasons why Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH) currently ranks the third best-selling brand in the country considering that it offers three hatchback models: the Suzuki Swift, Celerio, and S-Presso.

To assist car buyers who are in the market for a hatchback, SPH is offering the Swift with as much as Php 80,000 cash discount for those who want to pay in full. Another payment scheme available for the Japanese hatchback is a low down payment for as low as Php 29,000. To note, the said deals are available this September only.

For the price, the Suzuki Swift showcases a sporty exterior appeal which can be appreciated by young car buyers. It is designed with multi-reflector halogen headlamps, black accents, LED position lamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), LED rear combination lamps, and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the hatchback welcomes passengers with its black interior theme with white accents. A 7-inch infotainment screen is integrated into the center console which supports Bluetooth, AUX, and USB connectivities. There is a handful of cup and bottle holders that improves the practicality of the vehicle.

Powering the Suzuki Swift is a 1.2-liter gasoline engine capable of generating 82 hp and 113 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). With the CVT variant, drivers can benefit from a better fuel efficiency rating and can reduce fatigue on the go.

The other two hatchbacks on SPH’s lineup include the S-Presso and Celerio. The S-Presso is the entry-level model of the car brand in the country priced at Php 523,000, while the Celerio sits in between the S-Presso and Swift in SPH’s hatchback range. Additionally, a Php 60,000 cash discount and low downpayment of Php 29,000 are offered on the Celerio.

The Swift is the Japanese small-car expert Suzuki's entry into the growing demand for reliable subcompact hatchbacks. For the Philippine market, the Suzuki Swift 2023 has one variant which is the Swift 1.2 CVT. It comes with a price tag of Php 972,000.  

Powering the Philippine-spec Suzuki Swift is a 1.2-liter inline-4 gasoline engine. This four-banger can make up to 82 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. The said engine is then paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) only. Power is then sent to its front wheels. 

Size-wise, the Suzuki Swift 3,840mm long, 1,735mm wide, and 1,495mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,450mm, and a ground clearance of 120mm.  

Locally, the Swift Philippines competes against the likes of the Toyota Wigo, Mitsubishi Mirage, Honda Brio, Kia Picanto, and the Mazda2 Hatchback.
