Suzuki Dzire price tag gets additional P100,000

Updated May 05, 2022 | Same topic: Automotive Industry Updates

The sedan now starts at Php 609,000.

Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH) has been making significant changes to its sedan lineup since the start of the year. First, the company discontinued the Suzuki Ciaz from the range, making the Dzire the sole sedan entry of the brand. Now, the latter gets price bumps for all of its three variants made available locally.

It is unclear why SPH decided to increase the price of the Suzuki Dzire. The additional price is Php 100,000 for the two higher-spec variants, while the base GA 1.2 MT gets a Php 60,000 increase. See the list of price revisions of the Dzire below:

Model

New SRP

Suzuki Dzire GA 1.2 MT

Php 549,000

Php 609,000

Php 758,000

Suzuki Dzire GL+ 1.2 AGS AT

Php 719,000

Php 819,000

No significant changes were made to the specs of the Suzuki Dzire. This means that the brand’s entry to the subcompact sedan market still comes with a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen system, electronic fold and adjust side mirrors, and the more mature styling that was adopted when the revised version was introduced last year.

Under the hood, the sedan is still powered by a 1.2-liter K12M 4-cylinder gasoline engine capable of delivering 82 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. The MT variants use a 5-speed manual transmission, while the top-spec model benefits from a 5-speed automated manual transmission, or Auto Gear Shift (AGS).

The sole sedan model in Suzuki's Philippine lineup

Filipino car buyers who will still consider a Suzuki Dzire despite the price bump can expect a practical and fuel-efficient sedan. In a fuel economy test conducted by SPH and the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), the vehicle managed to register 26.5 km/l with the manual transmission, and 25.9 km/l with the AGS.

Aside from the Dzire, the Jimny is another Suzuki model in the local lineup to receive a price increase this year. The Japanese mini off-roader gets a markup that ranges from Php 62,000 to Php 75,000, depending on the variant and options.
