Skyway Stage 3 Buendia-Balintawak close until January 13

Ever since the partial opening of the Skyway Stage 3 on December 29 last year, motorists were really glad that the project was finally completed. So far, the Skyway Stage 3 only receives positive feedback saying that the project will thoroughly help the country when dealing with heavy traffic.

Skyway Stage 3 Quick Look: 22-minute drive from NAIAX to Balintawak

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) intended to fully operate the Skyway Stage 3 to motorists on January 14, 2021. Now, Skyway O&M Corporation announced on its social media account that the Skyway Stage 3 Buendia-Balintawak will be closed starting today until January 13, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Skyway O&M Corporation didn’t share the full details as to why it decided to temporarily close the said route. It only said that the closure of the Skyway Stage 3 Buendia-Balintawak is due to construction activities. Some of which would probably include the finalization of toll gates and the cleaning up of construction materials.

The temporary closure of the said route will occur during after-hours so motorists can expect that it won’t thoroughly cause heavy traffic. As of this writing, SMC hasn’t addressed whether the free toll fee for a month will be affected. This means that the Skyway Stage 3 would still probably be free of fee until around January 29, 2021.

Aside from the Skyway Stage 3 Buendia-Balintawak, Skyway O&M Corporation also announced that the Alabang-Zapote Northbound and Southbound on-ramp, and the steel ramp near Alabang will temporarily be closed due to construction activities. These roads will be closed from January 10 to 31, 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. only.
